Greetings from Oregon, USA!

Our class is honored to once again represent the USA in another HOTW project.

Our first postcards flew off to Scotland, Tunisia, Bangladesh and Spain!

As a class, we voted on which postcards to send from a stack of various Oregon postcards. Then, with teacher guidance, we worked together to create a message that would fit on the small space of our card, but would give others a window into our home. Here are the postcards our class voted on to send:

The message our class chose to write on the postcards we sent reads:

“Hello Everyone,
We are in 2nd grade in Eugene, Oregon, USA. The USA is the land of the free. Oregon is home to Nike, many Native American tribes, mountains, forests, waterfalls, deserts, and the ocean. The Ducks and the Beavers are our favorite football teams.
Goodbye Everyone,
Ms. Donn’s Class – Room 12
Willagillespie Elementary School”

So far, we have received two postcards. They've come from Spain and Russia. Each time we get mail, we scan the QR codes and enjoy watching the videos. We then add our postcards to our map and HOTW bulletin board to display and keep track throughout the year. We also research and watch videos of the places our postcards came from and write down things we've learned about the culture and climate in our "passport" books.
